Whether you’re already a student studying in Nottingham or joining us next September, you will know Nottingham is one of the most popular student cities in the UK, meaning Nottingham’s night life is second to none. This vibrant city offers everything a student could want regarding night life, from bars to clubs, so we’ve put together a list of the best nights out for students in Nottingham!

When it comes to Bars, Nottingham offers a wide range of options to choose from. Let’s begin with some of the best bars in Nottingham:

Bunk

Bunk is one of the most popular bars in Nottingham and its clear to see why. ‘Bunk Cocktails and Wings’ offers affordable food and drinks making it the perfect destination for students. Offering 2-for-1 cocktails from 5pm-10pm and wings and fries starting from just £4.75, Bunk is an ideal place for students to go for pre-drinks before a club, or just for cocktails and wings with friends. With three locations in Nottingham’s city centre, it’s easy to find a Bunk conveniently located for you. Not only are Bunk’s prices student friendly but the aesthetic décor in each of the Bunk locations makes Bunk the picture perfect spot.

Revolution (Revs)

Revs is one of the best bars to go to as a student as its packed with some amazing offers and discounts. Revolution offers 25% of food at any time for students and an extended happy hour all night Sunday-Friday, making Revs one of the most popular bars in Nottingham. With two locations in Nottingham, based in the Corner House and the Lace Market, there is always a Revs within walking distance. Revs is known for their delicious cocktails and their shot sticks of six flavoured vodka shots for just £12. As well as the amazing cocktails and great deals, Revs offers a vibrant and lively atmosphere to host your night.

Penny Lane

Penny Lane is a bar not to be missed in Nottingham, located in the heart of the Lace Market, Penny Lane offers Food, drinks and iconic amusement arcade games. We all know students love a good deal and with 2-for-1 cocktails before 9pm, Sunday to Thursday, what’s not to love? If you’re looking for somewhere to drink, eat and play arcade games, Penny Lane is the place to be.

Students can always expect a great night out whichever club they chose, however, with every single day of the week hosting different club nights, Nottingham students are spoilt for choice! Club

Ocean

We couldn’t not mention in more detail the biggest student club in Nottingham. Ocean Night Club is one of the most popular student clubs amongst Nottingham students. Ocean is a student only club and hosts a fancy dress night every week. With student-friendly priced drinks all night every Ocean night you are guaranteed a cheap night out. Whether you’re going with a society or just with friends, Ocean will always provide a fun night out that you will never forget.

Unit 13

Unit 13 also deserves a special mention, built, and designed during lockdown in 2021 Unit 13 is one of the newest and most popular clubs in Nottingham. Since opening Unit 13 have hosted world class artists such as Gorgon City, Jax Jones, Chase & Status, Sub Focus and many more. All their events in 2021/2022 were sold out, so if that’s not an indicator that it’s going to be great night out, I don’t know what is. The venue includes two rooms: the main room with music such as House, Techno, DnB and Disco and Room 2 hosting R&B, Hip Hop and Grime. Unit 13 is busy any day of the week however, they are known for their ‘Dirty Monday’s’ student club night every Monday.

Rock City

It wouldn’t be right not to end on the most iconic club in Nottingham, Rock City. As one of the UK’s best live venues and night clubs, Rock City host gigs and club nights. With three student nights a week. On Thursdays they host ‘Tuned’ their biggest student club night offering 2-4-1 drinks all night. On Fridays they host ‘Get Lucky’ and on Saturdays they host ‘Rebel Rebel’, Nottingham’s biggest Saturday night out. There isn’t a day of the week where Rock city won’t be thriving.
