Where To Live In Stoke As A Student

Where To Live In Stoke As A Student

Stoke is home to two higher education facilities, Staffordshire University and Stoke-On-Trent College. The history rich city makes it a thriving and bustling place to study and live. We know that choosing a place to live can be very difficult especially with the limited time frame that you are given. Luckily there are many places in Stoke that will go beyond your expectations and fulfill all your student needs. And no need to worry if you do not have a full group to book with. We also have lots of rooms to rent in Stoke on Trent. So the final question is…where?

Shelton- This area is absolute prime for being the centre of everything. The houses here are all terraced as well as surrounding the Staffordshire University. The Student Union, which takes centre stage when it comes to the social scene, is a few steps away from any house in the main area of Shelton. The railway station, accompanied by plenty of bus stops to transport you closer to the main shopping area, is situated close by. The University Pizzeria is very popular for its affordable prices and just round the corner convenience. Students also find themselves at The Terrace when not at the Student Union.

Hanley – This area has the real hustle and bustle of town life. Intu Potteries provides you with a gateway of opportunities for retail, restaurants and plenty of nightlife. The houses you will find here are not just terraced but also semi-detached and detached, giving a more spacious feeling to the area. This is the Ideal location for more of a buzzing lifestyle and only a 15 minute train ride away from Staffordshire University and Stoke on Trent College. It is also very close to the Walkabout and Fiction where many students find themselves each evening.

Penkhull – Located on the West side of the Queens Way main road this area is known for its bustling streets and historic nature, yet it still seems to be charmed by many modern stores and bars. It is only a 15-minute walk to the University and a 20-minute walk to the College so it is very much a hot spot for student life. The houses here range in size and price but they certainly have a more spacious feel. Church Street and London Road will accommodate most of your student needs from the Sainsbury’s nearby and many bus stops that take you straight to the main shopping centre further north. Students that live here find themselves at the White Lion and The Greyhound Inn.
